There’s no excuse anymore for not backing up

Benjamin Frankin said “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” We all know the old adage, but how many of us really heed it? Most of us have experienced a computer crashing, our digital camera breaking, our cell phone being lost or stolen and the pain of losing so much important data that we don’t know where to even begin.

So why don’t we make it a priority to back up! Here are some of the typical reasons people give:

“It’s just too time consuming”. Backing up data is getting faster all the time as new technologies come out. If you haven’t tried it before or in a long time, give it a try now. Think of it as a one-time investment of your time to get the bulk of your files and photos organized and uploaded, followed by periodic maintenance. The software makes it nearly brainless to do these days.
“Money”. It used to be that you needed hire a computer geek to get all your stuff backed up, or recovered if your computer crashed. But really that’s not the case anymore. For less than the cost of one cafe latte each month, you have many inexpensive options to do it yourself. Fore go one of your daily latte’s and make it happen.
“Procrastination”. Do you think that you’ll have time to do it later? Maybe, but if a flood or power surge or computer virus invade, “later” is too late. If you can’t “find “the time, schedule it out in your calendar and make it happen.
“My data isn’t THAT important”. We all say that until we realize that 5 years of our children's lives is all-of-a-sudden gone! Computers crash on average every 3 years...it will happen.
Back up today. You won’t regret it..
