How It Works

We brought a real life file cabinet to the web.

HomeDataGuard is as close to being a physical file cabinet as you can get on the web. The drawers even roll open to allow you to view tabbed folders and see what's inside of them.

As a result, it's simple, it's easy-to-use, and you can organize folders and files the way you are used to.

It's all there when you need it.

Your HomeDataGuard File Cabinet is like a bank safety deposit box, except that you have access to it 24/7/365, from any computer with Internet access. Retrieve a document, photo or other file:

  • From your office
  • While on vacation
  • When visiting family or friends
  • When displaced or evacuated

It's Secure.

No one can access your data unless you provide them with your personal login information... not even us.

And every piece of information or file that you store in your HomeDataGuard File Cabinet is encrypted automatically before it is saved on our servers. That means it would look like gibberish unless your password decrypted it. Click here for more on security.

Start right now with this Emergency Contacts Form.

As an extra resource, we provide you with a free Emergency Contacts Form to fill out and store in your File Cabinet.[Download this easy-to-use form now!] Once you download it to your computer, complete the form with whatever information you decide is important to you (you are not required to complete every field). Save it on your computer and then upload it into your File Cabinet.

So Easy!

It's so easy to use... even for the least technical person!

Once you log in, simply:

  • Click on a drawer of your choice and watch it roll open.
  • Scroll over the folders with your mouse and click on the folder you want to work within.
  • Add a file by clicking on the "Add Files" button and follow the simple instructions.
  • When you are done using a folder, click the "Close" button. When you are done with a drawer click on the "Close Drawer Button", or just log out.

When your file has been uploaded, you will see an icon of the file displayed in your folder. If it is a photo, you will even see the image. Experts say "Backup Your File Cabinets!"... Digitize your information & irreplaceable memoirs!

Physical papers and photos can be converted into digital formats by using a scanner or even a fax machine. If you do not own one, take your documents to a local copy store for assistance. And if you reside in regions where we offer HomeDataPro assistance, you can schedule an appointment to have a HomeDataPro come to your home to do all the scanning for you.

TIP: you can obtain a copy of a document in digital format from your CPA, your attorney, your insurance broker, your real estate agent, or other trusted advisors.
